Bimini-Top CAGNARO STECATTO für sailboats
The CAGNARO STECCATO Bimini Top has been designed to create shade on sailing boats without having to give up the space on board. The removable aluminium frame allows to keep the canvas high and perfectly stretched without cluttering the boat deck. The canvas is provided with a zippered slot for the topping lift and a stainless steel ring in the central part for the Bimini Top fixing at the top, as well as three slots in correspondence of the two aluminum bars that make up the frame, to be used for the passage of the fastening rope. For the installation is at the discretion of the customer whether to use the two side slots or the central one together with the ring in the middle of the canvas.

Fabric details
The canvas material is the AIRTEX® fabric from Mehler Texnologies, it is weatherproof and UV-resistant, antimicrobial, as well as dirt and water-repellent. The fabric complies with the UNI EN 24920 standard and is available in 14 different colours. This 200 g/m² light fabric is a 100% polyester fabric that is acrylate-coated and impregnated on one side. The special coating gives the material a distinctive textile character. With a total weight of only 200 g/sqm, this quality achieves a very good sun protection effect according to UV Standard 801.
Max. speed
The maximum recommended speed when cruising and the bimini is set up is 15 knots.

Manufacturer information:
The starting point
The first measurement to take is the width between the right centre gunwale to the left centre one of the boat or, in case of an inflatable boat, the width between the right centre tubular to the centre left one.
From this size it can be evaluated which model of Bimini Top can be installed.

Thanks to the elasticity of its frame, the Bimini has an installation tolerance.
So, when the width of the boat is different from a standard one, is it possible to install a lower installation width from the real one.
However to grant a correct installation and optimal performance, we reccomend that the difference between widths is no more than 5%. On the contrary, we do not recommend to install a Bimini that has an installation width greater than the real width measured.
Example: A Bimini with an installation width of 200cm can be installed for real widths ranging from 200 to 210cm. But not for less than 200cm

Which height should be choosen?
The Bimini Tops are produced in height 95cm, 115cm and 140cm.
- A 95cm high Bimini Top is suitable for installations on boats with very high gunwales or for fastboats where it is not possible to stand up.
- A 115cm high Bimini Top is suitable for installation on guard rails or on boats with a minimum height of 80cm.
- For installation on gunwales of about 60cm. an height of 140cm is generally recommended

What is the difference between 2, 3 or 4 arches?
The transverse tube of the Bimini Top that crosses the boat in the direction of width is defined as an "arch". A greater number of arches are reflected in a greater strength of the frame and in a better tension of the covering fabric. Also higher speeds while having the Bimini Top unfolded are possible.
An important element to consider is the choice of the fabric
The following two fabrics are available:
- Resin-coated polyester is used on Bimini Tops with light frames, like on the models ELEGANCE, ELEGANCE PLUS and CHIC with Ø 20/25mm Aluminium tube or the models SPORT and SPORT PLUS with Ø20mm stainless steel tubes.
- Resin-coated acrylic is employed on Bimini-Tops with stronger frames like on the models ROYAL, ROYAL XL, LOOK UP, PRESTIGE and EXCLUSIVE with Ø 22/25/30mm stainless steel frame.
The frame is made of tubes and the diameter of these ones influences the overall strength of the Bimini Top.
The available diameters are 20/22/25/30mm:
- The aluminium or stainless steel frames with a diameter of 20mm are handy and light and suitable for small boats
- Whereas those with a diameter 22/25 or 30mm are recommended for larger boats. Whole stainless steel frames are very strong and of great aesthetic impact.
Another element to consider is the material of the jaw slides.
Nylon jaw slides are applied on light Bimini Tops with reduced dimensions, whereas stainless steel ones are applied to larger structures.
Deck hinges are elements that allow installing the Bimini Top in different ways. On the floor, on the guard rail, on sliding rails or on the tubulars of inflatable boats. Deck hinges can be chosen according to the various aesthetic and functional requirements, for any boat, both in nylon or stainless steel.
