KUS Sensor for Rudder Position Indication, 87–900 Ohms – Precise Position Measurement for Hydraulic Steering Systems

The original KUS rudder position sensor (87–900 ohm characteristic curve) was developed specifically for boats and yachts with hydraulic steering systems. Unlike traditional linkage transducers mounted on the rudder, this sensor is directly coupled to the movement of the hydraulic cylinder. It converts the mechanical steering angle into a highly precise analog resistance signal ranging from 87 ohms to 900 ohms.

As a result, the sensor delivers an absolutely error-free, vibration-free signal to your helm station, allowing you to read the exact position of your propeller or rudder blade in the cockpit at any time with millimeter precision.

⚠️ Important Note on Ohm Compatibility & Display:

This special sensor operates exclusively within the resistance range of 87–900 ohms.
